Indian media claims that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy.
According to Indian media, the Pakistan team will not travel to India for the 2026 T20 World Cup, and the 2025 Champions Trophy matches will be played in Pakistan and Dubai.
Indian media also claims that an unofficial board meeting occurred, during which the ICC approved the hybrid model and a principled agreement was reached between Pakistan and India.
As per the agreement, PCB and BCCI have agreed to hold India’s matches in Dubai, while the Pakistan-India match in the 2026 T20 World Cup will take place in Colombo.
Indian media states that PCB will not receive any financial compensation for this agreement. Champions Trophy matches will be held in three venues in Pakistan, while India’s matches will be played in Dubai.
Pakistan will also host the ICC Women’s Tournament in 2027, while the knockout matches of the 2026 T20 World Cup will be decided later. Indian media mentions that no written agreement has been signed yet, and only a principled agreement has been reached. A final decision regarding the Champions Trophy will be made tomorrow, with the three-year fusion model expected to receive ICC approval tomorrow.
