The inaugural ceremony of Gaddafi Stadium is being held today, with Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, set to officially open the stadium.
The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, returned from an international tour early this morning and immediately visited Gaddafi Stadium to review the arrangements for the inauguration ceremony.
During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the event should be fitting for the newly upgraded Gaddafi Stadium, which is a matter of great pride for Pakistan.
The colorful inauguration ceremony today will feature popular singers, a dazzling fireworks display, a light show, and a spectacular drum performance, with free entry for cricket fans.
The theme song for the ICC Champions Trophy tournament, starting on February 19, will also be unveiled during the event.
It is noteworthy that Mohsin Naqvi has arranged a lunch for the workers who have been working tirelessly day and night on the stadium’s upgrade. The menu includes mutton korma, beef pilaf, chicken roast, oily naan, zarda, raita, and salad.
During the ceremony, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will also thank the hardworking workers for their efforts.
