The ICC Champions Trophy, hosted by Pakistan, continues, with a Group A match between Pakistan and Bangladesh scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday). Although both teams have already eliminated from the tournament, a significant update regarding the match has emerged.
The match is set to take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium at 2 PM on Thursday. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Rawalpindi on the same day, raising concerns about possible disruptions to the game.
Earlier, a Group B match between Australia and South Africa was also washed out due to rain, with the toss unable to take place. After several hours of waiting, the umpires decided to cancel the match, awarding one point each to both teams.
It is important to note that India and New Zealand have already secured their spots in the semi-finals from Group A. Meanwhile, the rain-affected match in Group B has created an intriguing situation.
In Group B, both South Africa and Australia have three points each. Today, England and Afghanistan are set to face off in a crucial match, with both teams having lost their opening games. The losing team in today’s game will be eliminated from the Champions Trophy.
