In the match played in Rawalpindi, Lahore Qalandars’ wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings showcased aggressive batting against Quetta Gladiators and scored a fiery half-century.
Sam Billings remained unbeaten with 50 runs off just 19 balls, setting a new record for the fastest half-century in PSL history by a Lahore Qalandars player.
Sam Billings broke the record previously held by Umar Akmal, who had scored a fifty off 22 balls in the first season of PSL in 2016.
The overall record for the fastest half-century in PSL history is jointly held by Asif Ali and Rilee Rossouw, who scored fifties in just 17 balls.
It is worth mentioning that in Sunday’s match at Pindi Cricket Stadium, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 219 runs for 6 wickets.
