Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are expected to meet today to discuss the issue of new canals.
According to sources, the meeting is expected to take place this evening at the Prime Minister’s House, with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also accompanying.
Sources added that the Sindh government will present its stance on the canal issue to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the meeting, and significant progress on the matter is expected today.
It is noteworthy that two days ago, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stated that regardless of who initiated the canal project, the Sindh government would not allow its approval. He added that the Prime Minister is aware of the consequences, and they are dissatisfied that the project has not been scrapped yet.
On the other hand, Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah remarked that when the canals have not been approved, there should be no objections. He claimed that some individuals in Sindh are trying to create unrest.
