Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman stated that tensions between the two countries remain high, and the current situation reflects heightened hostility.
Senator and former Federal Information Minister Sherry Rehman said that Pakistan-India relations are currently strained, and tensions between the two nations have escalated.
She added that India issues aggressive statements daily, and its leadership constantly makes anti-Pakistan remarks, further fueling regional tensions.
Sherry Rehman warned that it is crucial to remain fully alert on both security and political fronts, as reports of continuous night-time firing along the Line of Control (LoC) persist.
She emphasized that India levels accusations against Pakistan without any evidence and that its narrative has become increasingly hateful. However, over time, India’s stance has grown weaker.
Commenting on the global implications of Pakistan-India tensions, the senior PPP leader noted that although it was expected the U.S. would support India, the U.S. tried to maintain balance, which resulted in diplomatic setbacks for India.
Sherry Rehman further said that India has always been prone to adventurism and is once again preparing to propagate false narratives.
Speaking on India’s strategy, she stated that suspending the Indus Waters Treaty was a pre-planned move by India, as its leadership has long been uncomfortable with the agreement.
Regarding occupied Kashmir, Sherry Rehman said the entire region now resembles a military garrison.
