A passenger aircraft flying from Quetta to Karachi narrowly avoided a major accident when a flock of birds near Jinnah International Airport posed a serious threat to the landing. The pilot’s quick response and presence of mind saved the flight from a possible disaster, ensuring a safe landing.
According to sources, the plane was approaching the runway for landing when suddenly a large number of birds appeared in its path. The situation posed an immediate risk to the aircraft, prompting the captain to act swiftly and contact air traffic control to alert them.
On instructions from the control tower, the pilot initiated a go-around maneuver, allowing airport authorities to clear the runway area. Bird shooters were immediately deployed to disperse the flock and secure the landing zone.
Once the area was declared clear, the aircraft made a second approach. With precision and skill, the pilot safely landed the plane at Jinnah International Airport without any harm to passengers or crew.
Aviation sources have expressed concern that the presence of birds around the airport could disrupt flight operations. The administration has therefore issued instructions for additional measures to minimize bird activity in the area and prevent similar incidents in the future.
