Federal Minister for Communications and President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Abdul Aleem Khan, expressed strong solidarity with the Pakistan Army and paid tribute to Chief of Defence Forces and Field Marshal Hafiz Syed Asim Munir. He said the nation still remembers how Pakistan decisively responded to India’s aggression on May 10, and that Pakistan’s armed forces have ensured national dignity in the eyes of the world.
Speaking at a party convention in Faisalabad, he said accusing the army or undermining national defence was unacceptable, adding that those spreading propaganda on social media should be ashamed and should first send their own children to the border before criticising those who sacrifice their lives.
He said the shooting down of seven enemy aircraft without losing a single Pakistani fighter jet was a historic achievement, made possible by the bravery of Pakistani soldiers and the blessings of Almighty Allah. He maintained that Pakistan’s international image has improved significantly due to the professionalism of its armed forces, and that every Pakistani can proudly represent the country anywhere in the world.
Aleem Khan warned that those speaking against national security and the military should be held accountable and said that regardless of being in government or not, his party would stand for the security of Pakistan. He urged citizens to reject and never vote for those who malign the armed forces.
He proposed dividing Punjab into four administrative provinces, with “Western Punjab” having Faisalabad as its headquarters. He emphasized that all four provinces should be reorganized administratively, citing examples from the United States, Russia, Turkey, Japan, and other countries where larger populations are governed through smaller administrative units.
The federal minister also announced major road expansion projects for Faisalabad and appreciated the services of party leaders while the gathering chanted slogans in support of the armed forces and celebrated with fireworks and drums.
