Former DG ISI Lieutenant General (Retd) Faiz Hameed has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by a Field General Court Martial.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the trial was conducted under the Pakistan Army Act, and the court reached its verdict after completing a comprehensive legal process.
The ISPR stated that the proceedings began on August 12, 2024, during which four major charges were examined. These charges included interference in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of official authority and government resources, and causing harm to individuals through unlawful actions.
The military spokesperson added that after an extensive trial involving evidence, testimonies, and legal arguments, all charges were proven against the accused. Consequently, the court sentenced him on December 11, 2025. Throughout the proceedings, the accused was granted full legal rights, including access to a defence team of his own choice.
According to ISPR, the convict retains the right to appeal the verdict before the relevant military appellate forum. It was further clarified that matters related to alleged political agitation and destabilisation involving political actors are being addressed separately from this trial.
