Flight operations at Karachi airport were restored after a four-hour suspension caused by dense fog, although the disruption led to significant delays and cancellations of both domestic and international flights.
According to the flight schedule, a total of 36 arrivals and departures were affected due to poor visibility, resulting in inconvenience and extended waiting times for passengers. Flights departing from Karachi to Istanbul and Muscat eventually took off after delays of nearly four hours.
Meanwhile, a flight arriving from Jeddah, SV 700, remained airborne for nearly two hours due to low visibility before being cleared to land safely in Karachi. Additionally, two flights arriving from Doha and Jeddah later resumed their onward operations after weather conditions improved.
The schedule further indicated that five flights operating between Karachi and Islamabad were delayed by one to three hours. Similarly, six flights between Karachi and Lahore experienced delays of up to three hours. Two flights from Karachi to Jeddah and Lahore were cancelled altogether due to prolonged disruption.
Airport authorities confirmed that flight operations have now returned to normal following an improvement in weather conditions. Passengers have been advised to check the latest flight updates with their respective airlines before heading to the airport to avoid inconvenience.
