Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Nida Dar as the captain of the women’s national cricket team for matches scheduled throughout the year, prior to the start of the matches, while New Zealand’s Mark Coles has been once again appointed as the head coach.
36-year-old Nida Dar has been named the captain in place of Bismah Maroof, who resigned from the post after Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup held in South Africa in February, where the team lost three out of four matches.
The PCB has brought back Mark Coles as the head coach for the women’s cricket team for a second term, appointing him as the head coach for the team once again.
In its press release, the PCB said that these appointments of Nida Dar and Mark Coles have been made in line with the PCB’s vision and practical wisdom to invest further in women’s cricket for its improvement.
