ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has filed a request for revision of election dates in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The framers of the constitution did not give the judiciary the right to give dates for elections.
The Election Commission has filed a petition in the Supreme Court for review of the May 14 election verdict in the case of elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Election Commission requested the Supreme Court to review its April 4 decision and took the position that the judiciary does not have the authority to give the date of the elections, the framers of the constitution did not give the right to the judiciary to give the date for the elections.
