A plan has been devised to connect Islamabad with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under the Mega Rural Development Package, a decision has been made to construct the Sikandar Azam Road in the Margalla Hills of Islamabad.
Sikandar Azam Road will be completed in four months. It spans 7 kilometers from Shah Allah Ditta to the heart of the Margalla Hills. The estimated cost for this road is 600 million rupees. This road will connect Islamabad with the Harypur area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Chairman of the CDA, Norel Amin Mengal, stated that this project is an urgent need of the hour. Sikandar Azam Road will culminate near the Kanthla Kunnian, marking the boundary between Islamabad and Harypur. The remaining part of the road will be constructed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
The federal development authority will merge both roads to create the shortest route from the federal capital to the federal seat of government. The renovation of the historic and worn-out road will boost tourism in the region. Additionally, a park and a car parking area will be built on Skandar Azam Road to facilitate local and international tourists.
