Former Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced the date for the return of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif from London.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, speaking to the media, said that Nawaz Sharif will arrive in Pakistan on October 21, and his return will be warmly welcomed.
Party leaders had previously indicated that Nawaz Sharif would return in October, but no specific date had been given.
Shahbaz Sharif had made it clear on August 25 that Nawaz Sharif would come to Pakistan in October and lead the election campaign along with facing the legal proceedings.
After a meeting with Nawaz Sharif in London, Shahbaz Sharif had said that the Panama Papers contained the names of over 400 individuals, including politicians, and Nawaz Sharif’s name was added to the Panama case as part of a conspiracy. A biased decision had been made against Nawaz Sharif on charges of misconduct. We pray to Allah to guide some individuals.
The former Prime Minister had stated that Nawaz Sharif would come to Pakistan and face the law. Clean and transparent accountability is needed. According to the Constitution, it is the responsibility of the Election Commission to conduct a fresh analysis of the assembly. We will cooperate with the Election Commission for clean and transparent elections.
