Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench has ordered the police to produce Sheikh Rasheed within a week. Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan heard the petition filed against Sheikh Rasheed’s detention.
Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan heard the petition filed against the detention of Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed.
The court asked the RPO Rawalpindi, “Where is Sheikh Rasheed and the other two individuals with him? Will you submit it in writing or produce Sheikh Rasheed?”
The RPO requested an additional 15 days. The court responded, “15 days is too much; this is not an ordinary matter. Even a two-day extension would be excessive.”
Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan said, “Upon the request of the lawyer, Sardar Abdul Razzaq, I grant an additional 7 days. If Sheikh Rasheed is not produced within a week, the court will issue an FIR order.” Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing for a week.
