The Islamabad High Court disposed of the plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan against hearing the cipher case in jail.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq pronounced the decision to dispose of the petition.
The reasons will be revealed in the written decision on the basis of which the PTI Chairman’s request was disposed of.
The written decision of the Islamabad High Court to dispose of the application will be issued shortly.
It may be remembered that Chairman PTI had filed a petition against the jail trial of the cipher case.
Today Sardar Latif Khosa appeared in the court on behalf of Chairman PTI and termed the cipher case as false and baseless and said that Section 5 of the Secret Act is not applicable in the cipher case.
Latif Khosa said that the cipher was given to Asad Majeed, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, which was declassified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is currently in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
