PEMRA has once again issued guidelines for electronic and print media, Media Code of Conduct 2015 has been asked to ensure mandatory implementation.
According to the details, Pemra said in the ongoing statement that the media should boycott those who harm peace and order in the country.The media should not knowingly or unknowingly promote any hate mongering. Implementation of Media Code of Conduct 2015 must be ensured.
In the PEMRA statement, it was said that on May 9, public and state property were attacked, people’s lives were put in danger. On 9 May, anti-state statements were made, aimed at weakening the Federation. The purpose of these incidents was to spread hatred in the society.
It has been said in the declaration that on May 9, a nefarious conspiracy was hatched to harm the state and institutions. The events of May 9 should be strongly condemned. Promoting people involved in these incidents should be avoided.
The media regulator said that air time should not be given to hate mongers as per laws and court orders. Avoid giving airtime to those who incite public opinion against state institutions.
The PEMRA statement said that the electronic media should comply with the norms laid down by the editorial boards and PEMRA rules.
According to the announcement, the electronic media should follow the delay procedure in live broadcast. Form electronic media neutral and independent editorial boards.
