Islamabad’s District and Session Court has sentenced the accused Shahnawaz to death and imposed a fine of 1 million rupees in the Sara Inaam murder case.
Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana pronounced the verdict in the Sara Inam murder case and acquitted the accused Samina Shah due to lack of evidence.
It should be noted that Sara, the daughter-in-law of a well-known journalist, was allegedly killed by her son Shahnawaz Amir in a farmhouse in Chak Shehzad after a fight on the night of September 23, 2022.
37-year-old Sara, a Canadian citizen, had arrived in Pakistan from Dubai, where she was employed, 3 days before she was killed.
The marriage of Shahnawaz and Sara took place just a few months ago, initiated through their friendship on social media. The prosecutor, lawyer Rao Abdul Rahim, had presented visual evidence before the court, seeking the death penalty for the accused. The verdict for this case was reserved and finally announced on December 10th.
