An app for Hajj has been introduced for Pakistani pilgrims, which every pilgrim must download. The government will communicate with pilgrims through this app exclusively. Under government quota, 69 thousand Pakistanis will have the privilege of performing Hajj.
This year, the number of pilgrims has decreased. Under the government quota, 69,000 pilgrims will have the opportunity to perform Hajj. This year, a reduction of one lakh rupees has been made in the expenses. The airfare has also been reduced. Pilgrims will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis in Mina, based on the principle of “first come, first served”. All government pilgrims will be able to avail the facility of Hajj train.
This year, short Hajj has been introduced, allowing pilgrims to perform Hajj within 20 to 25 days. The cost of short Hajj has been increased up to 55,000 to 60,000 rupees. Pilgrims will receive free SIM cards from Pakistan. WhatsApp calls will also be possible from there. Pilgrims will be provided with free bags of the same color.
A QR code will be placed on the bag, indicating where the pilgrim came from and where they are staying. The ministry has also announced plans to start a road to Makkah service from Lahore next year.
