Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has ordered to speed up the delivery of relief goods to Gaza and Lebanon and to send two airplanes immediately.
A review meeting regarding the aid sent by Pakistan to Gaza, Palestine, and Lebanon was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister directed that apart from the air route, aid should also be sent by trucks through the ground route and ensure that the aid reaches the deserving people.
Regarding the delivery of relief goods, the Prime Minister directed to further improve the relations with the Pakistani ambassadors posted in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt. The Prime Minister appealed to the people of Pakistan, especially the rich, to donate to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon.
He directed to conduct a full awareness campaign regarding the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon.
The meeting was briefed on Pakistan’s aid operations in Lebanon and Gaza, in which it was told that Pakistan has provided tents, clothes, blankets, medicines, and items to protect the brothers and sisters affected by the Israeli aggression in Gaza and Lebanon. Food and drinks are being sent.
It was stated in the briefing that due to the Israeli attacks and sieges, there is a problem in the delivery of relief goods to the affected areas of Palestine and Lebanon. Facilities will be provided by the Government of Pakistan regarding delivery.
Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecom Shaza Fatima, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, Chairman Higher Education Commission, Chairman NDM A, and concerned senior officials attended.
