The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin on February 19, with eight teams gearing up for the mega event. However, unfortunately, several teams will be missing their key players due to various reasons, primarily injuries. Some of these absent players are those on whom their teams heavily relied.
Although teams had announced their official squads for the tournament, multiple last-minute injuries forced some teams to make squad changes before the deadline. Here is a list of major players who will miss the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Among the absentees are Saim Ayub from Pakistan, Jasprit Bumrah from India, and five key Australian players, including Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Marcus Stoinis, and Mitchell Marsh. Additionally, Anrich Nortje and Gerald Coetzee from South Africa, Mujeeb Ur Rahman from Afghanistan, Jacob Bethell, and Ben Sears from New Zealand will also miss the tournament.
Pakistan and New Zealand will face off in the opening match of the Champions Trophy on February 19 at the National Stadium, Karachi.
