The Australian cricket team has suffered another major setback ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy semi-final.
Aggressive Australian batter Matthew Short has been ruled out of the tournament due to a foot injury. Cooper Connolly has been included in the Australian squad as his replacement. Cooper Connolly has previously played three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for Australia.
Before this, key players like captain Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Marsh had also been ruled out of the Champions Trophy.
Meanwhile, the ICC event’s technical committee has approved the changes in the Australian squad. Tomorrow, Australia and India will play in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy.
