Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has allegedly taken the keys to the Governor House offices with him, leaving Acting Governor Owais Qadir Shah unable to access the premises. According to reports, Owais Qadir Shah had called a high-level meeting to discuss law and order in the province, with the Interior Minister and IG Sindh also invited.
When Owais Shah arrived at the Governor’s House, he was denied entry into the offices. Although several officials had reached the venue, staff members refused to open the offices. After the high-level meeting ended without a proper briefing, officers left without engaging with the acting governor.
Acting Governor Owais Qadir Shah expressed frustration, stating that he had convened a crucial meeting regarding Muharram-related security but was informed by staff that Kamran Tessori had taken the office keys with him. He added that preventing constitutional duties is unacceptable and said that the entire Governor House staff, including the Medical Superintendent, was missing.
Shah termed the closure of offices a mockery of the constitutional post, noting that the Governor House staff are paid by the Sindh government, and disrupting a security meeting is shameful.
He further said that the governorship is a constitutional role, not a personal drawing room, and that Kamran Tessori’s actions are inappropriate. Shah warned that if the meeting is not held, he would take legal action against Kamran Tessori. He also mentioned that police officials had already arrived at the Governor House, and the Interior Minister was on the way from Islamabad.
Owais Qadir Shah also revealed that Kamran Tessori has previously taken the office keys with him during foreign visits.
