Late at night, sudden earthquake tremors were felt in Karachi’s Quaidabad area and its surroundings, creating a wave of panic among the residents. The unexpected tremors jolted people awake from their sleep, prompting many to rush out of their homes and workplaces.
According to preliminary information released by the Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred at 3:14 AM. It measured a magnitude of 3 on the Richter scale and had a depth of 8 kilometers. The epicenter was located in the Malir area, situated in the southeastern part of Karachi.
Fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported as a result of the earthquake. However, large numbers of anxious citizens were seen reciting religious verses as they gathered outside their homes in fear.
Although the tremors lasted only a few moments, their psychological impact was significant. A state of unrest prevailed across several parts of the city throughout the night.
