National T20 team’s vice-captain Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the tours to Bangladesh and the West Indies, as he is currently dealing with pain in his right shoulder in England.
According to sources, Shadab Khan has decided to undergo shoulder surgery this week, which will be performed in England with consultation from the PCB medical panel.
Following the surgery, Shadab Khan will require at least two months of recovery before returning to cricket, rendering him unavailable for both upcoming tours.
It is worth mentioning that the T20 series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is scheduled to begin on July 20, with the national team’s training camp set to start on July 7 in Karachi.
The team will depart for Dhaka on July 16, where three T20 matches are scheduled on July 20, 22, and 24. Shadab Khan’s absence could prove to be a significant gap for the team.
