The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in various parts of the country over the coming days. While most areas are expected to experience hot and humid conditions, select regions may enjoy heavy rainfall and cool breezes.
According to details, rain with thunder and lightning is expected in northeastern and southern Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and parts of Gilgit-Baltistan. Islamabad may also see rainfall at a few locations.
Cities in Punjab likely to receive rain include Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Dera Ghazi Khan. These areas may also witness strong winds along with rain.
In Balochistan, light to moderate rain is expected in districts such as Quetta, Ziarat, Barkhan, Sibi, Kohlu, Musakhel, Loralai, Zhob, and Khuzdar. Coastal parts of Sindh may also experience showers, potentially bringing relief from the heat.
Upper regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, and Kurram, are also forecasted to receive rain with gusty winds, which may help lower temperatures.
The PMD has also issued a weather advisory for parts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, warning of thunderstorms and strong winds. Residents and tourists in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions.
