Rawalpindi: As part of the nationwide anti-smuggling campaign, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out seven major operations in various cities, seizing a total of 186.280 kilograms of narcotics valued at over Rs 72.8 million. Six suspects were arrested during the raids.
According to the ANF spokesperson, 4.3 kilograms of ice were recovered from a parcel at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi that was being sent from Lahore to Australia. Additionally, 380 grams of ice hidden in shoes at a courier office in Lahore and destined for overseas shipment were also seized.
In Islamabad, 23 kilograms of ice and one kilogram of suspicious material were recovered from a suspect near Faizabad Bus Terminal. Similarly, two separate operations on the Peshawar Ring Road led to the recovery of 19.2 kilograms of hashish from two suspects and 5 kilograms of heroin from two motorcycle riders. Another suspect near the Ring Road was found with 8.4 kilograms of hashish in his bag.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, 105 kilograms of ice and 20 kilograms of heroin were recovered from inside machinery hidden in two containers stored in a company warehouse on Hawks Bay Road.
Cases have been registered against all arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations have been initiated.
