The search and rescue operation for the girl who was swept away alongside her father in a flash flood in a private housing society’s Phase 5 in Islamabad has officially ended without success.
According to Rescue 1122, the operation, which lasted for six consecutive days, utilized various technical resources, but no trace of the girl was found.
The body of the girl’s father, Colonel (R) Ishaq Qazi, was recovered from the Soan River during the operation, while the search for the girl extended from the incident site to the area of Gorkhpur.
Expert teams from Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi participated in the extensive operation, which involved boat patrols, underwater scuba diving, magnetic detection, and on-foot search efforts.
It is worth noting that on July 22, the girl and her father were swept away while they were inside their vehicle during heavy rainwater flooding. Despite the recovery of the father’s body, the daughter remains untraceable, prompting authorities to conclude the search operation officially.
