Torkham: The repatriation of Afghan nationals from Pakistan continues, with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department reporting that 2,491 Afghans crossed back into their homeland via the Torkham border on Sunday. Among them, 746 individuals were found to be residing in Pakistan illegally.
According to official figures, a total of 743,000 Afghan citizens have so far returned to Afghanistan through routes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone. Nationwide, authorities have repatriated 605,000 Afghans who were living illegally in Pakistan.
The report further highlighted that 89,000 Proof of Registration (PoR) card holders and 48,000 Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders have also been sent back across the border.
Officials noted that the process of repatriation is ongoing, with more Afghan nationals expected to return to their homeland in the coming weeks.
