Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted intermittent rainfall across the city over the next 24 hours. According to the Met Office spokesperson, the current monsoon system is in the form of a depression, centered about 60 kilometers west of Karachi.
Officials added that the system is likely to weaken into a low-pressure area in the coming hours, though rain-bearing clouds remain concentrated over the city’s western parts. Heavy showers are expected this afternoon in the western and southern neighborhoods of Karachi, while light to moderate rain is likely to continue intermittently until late at night.
The system’s impact is also expected to extend to Jamshoro, Thatta, and Sujawal, whereas other districts of Sindh will experience hot and humid weather. On Wednesday, Karachi’s weather is forecast to remain partly cloudy with chances of light rain.
Regarding the temperature, PMD reported that the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 25°C, while the maximum is expected to hover between 27°C and 29°C. Humidity levels stand at 92 percent, with southeasterly winds blowing at around 15 km/h.
