Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court on Tuesday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the police to provide complete details of all cases filed against former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan. The hearing was presided over by Justice Azam Khan, with Khan’s sisters also present in court.
During arguments, Khan’s counsel Barrister Salman Safdar said the petition had been filed two years ago when NAB and FIA were actively issuing notices. He alleged that state institutions were being used to target Khan and his party in what he termed as unconstitutional political victimization.
Safdar told the court that despite two years passing, nothing had changed and that a total of 127 cases had so far been registered against his client. He requested the court to call for official details from the relevant agencies and urged that a larger bench be constituted, citing precedent in other politically motivated cases.
Special Prosecutor NAB Abdul Rafi asked the court for additional time to compile the latest case record. However, he opposed the request for a larger bench, arguing that there were no valid grounds in the petition to warrant such a move.
Justice Azam Khan remarked that a decision on forming a larger bench would be made once the case details were received. The court adjourned proceedings after directing NAB, FIA, and police to submit a full record of all pending cases against Imran Khan.
