Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has stated that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s protests outside Adiala Jail continue regularly, the government may consider transferring Imran Khan to another prison.
Speaking in a television interview, Rana Sanaullah said that PTI as a party, and Imran Khan personally, have repeatedly targeted state institutions, while the public does not support such rhetoric. He added that India is Pakistan’s enemy, yet Imran Khan echoed its propaganda, which is deeply irresponsible.
He said there is currently no mechanism for negotiations with PTI. Although multiple attempts were made in the past, Imran Khan’s persistent confrontational statements created a deadlock every time, stopping political tension from easing.
Rana Sanaullah warned that if PTI continues protests every Tuesday and Thursday outside Adiala Jail and disturbs public order, the government might seriously consider moving Imran Khan to another prison facility.
He said if PTI as a party and Imran Khan as a leader publicly distance themselves from the events of May 9 and apologize for their controversial statements, a path toward dialogue may become possible. However, as long as Imran Khan continues holding the same stance, political deadlock will remain.
He further said that Bilawal Bhutto has always shown a clear and democratic political approach, consistently supporting dialogue and reconciliation. According to him, the DG ISPR has also emphasized that political parties must resolve issues among themselves.
