The Senate has passed a bill for reconsideration of Supreme Court verdicts and orders, under the chairmanship of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani. The bill, presented by Irfan Siddiq,was passed with 32 votes in favor and 21 against.
After the bill was passed, opposition members surrounded the chairman’s podium and made noise.
On this occasion, opposition leader Shahzad Waseem opposed the bill, saying it favors the traders, and they do not accept it.
He accused the rulers of insulting parliament and not speaking up against violations.
During the session, Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Nazeer Tarar expressed his opinion that the Supreme Court has the power to reconsider under parliamentary law. He said that people are treated unfairly in reconsideration. Article 188 of the Constitution mentions the power of reconsideration.
