Auckland: New Zealand all-rounder, Michael Bracewell, has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup due to injury, while the participation of Kane Williamson in the upcoming World Cup is also uncertain.
According to New Zealand Cricket, Bracewell has been sidelined from cricket for a period of 6 to 8 months due to a shoulder injury sustained while batting for Worcestershire in a T20 Blast match.
Michael Bracewell is scheduled to undergo surgery in England on Thursday, after which a lengthy rehabilitation process will commence. Due to the extended recovery period, Bracewell will be unavailable for the World Cup scheduled in October-November.
The coach of the New Zealand cricket team has stated that Bracewell’s injury is a significant setback for the team.
It should be noted that Kane Williamson had previously suffered an injury during the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is currently undergoing knee surgery. While he is recovering through the rehabilitation process, his participation in the upcoming World Cup remains uncertain.
