Lahore: The caretaker government of Punjab will present a total budget of more than Rs. 1,368 billion today. According to the sources of the Punjab Finance Department, 426 billion 87 crore rupees have been earmarked for ongoing development projects and 941 billion 34 crore rupees for non-development projects in the 4-month budget.
A 35% increase will be made in the salaries of government employees from Grade 1 to 16, and a 30% increase will be made in the salaries of government employees from Grade 17 to 22, while the decision regarding pension increments will be made in the cabinet meeting.
As per the sources, it is recommended to allocate Rs. 69 billion and 8 crore for higher education projects, Rs. 4 billion and 64 crore for literacy and non-formal education, Rs. 64 billion and 84 crore for primary and secondary health care, and Rs. 58 billion and 21 crore for the School Education Department.
It is recommended to allocate Rs. 32 billion and 18 crore for industrial and trade development projects, Rs. 3 billion and 41 crore for the Information and Culture Department, Rs. 10 billion and 60 crore for energy, and Rs. 2 billion and 90 crore for the welfare of women.
