The government has challenged the Islamabad High Court’s decision to nullify the jail cypher trial against PTI founder Imran Khan in the Supreme Court.
In the petition filed by the Federation, it has been requested that the decision of the Islamabad High Court on 21 November 2023 be annulled.
It has been argued in the petition that the Islamabad High Court did not examine the facts, the High Court invalidated the special court set up for the cipher trial, while the High Court does not have the authority to terminate the status of the special court.
Imran Khan and Judge Abul Hasanat have been made parties in this petition filed by the government through lawyer Raja Rizwan Abbasi.
Apart from this, DGFIA, IG, DC, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and others have also been made parties in the petition.
