Islamabad: There is a possibility of electricity becoming costlier by Rs. 3.49 per unit for one month, as NEPRA is set to hear the request for monthly fuel price adjustment today.
CPPA has filed an application under the FCA in April, with unanimous approval it will impose an additional burden of Rs 34 billion on consumers.
The request stated that electricity was not generated from furnace oil and diesel in April, with only 22.96% electricity produced from hydel sources and 10.19% from local coal in the month.
11.28% electricity was generated from local gas and 24.97% from imported LNG, while 23.64% electricity was produced from nuclear fuel in April.
