In the interbank market, the American dollar remained moderately expensive against the Pakistani rupee today. The dollar reached Rs. 278.50 in the interbank market.
According to currency dealers, there has been an increase of 20 paisas in the value of the American currency in the interbank market, following which the dollar is being sold at Rs. 278.50.
At the close of business yesterday, the dollar was closed at Rs. 278.30, while in the open market, the dollar’s rate stands at Rs. 279.59.
It should be noted that in its report issued in May, the IMF had assumed the value of the rupee at Rs. 328.4 against one dollar, which is approximately 16 percent higher than the average rate of Rs. 285 per dollar for this year.
On the other hand, there was a positive trend in the stock exchange on Thursday, with a record increase of 263 points in the 100-index, reaching the level of 74,482 points.
