The monsoon season continues in various parts of the country, including different regions of Punjab.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall has occurred in various areas of Punjab such as Nankana Sahib, Muridke, and surrounding areas. Rain has also been reported in Farooqabad, Narowal, Nowshera Virkan and surrounding areas, while drizzle and cool winds have made the weather pleasant in Pasrur. Rain with cool winds has also been reported in Mandi Bahauddin and its surroundings, while several feeders have tripped due to strong winds and rain in Gujrat.
In Lahore, last night’s rain has reduced the heat and humidity. There is a possibility of thunderstorms with strong winds in various parts of the city during the next 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, the current temperature in Lahore is recorded at 29 degrees Celsius, with a maximum expected temperature of up to 36 degrees. The humidity level is recorded at 81%. Due to the reduction in air pollution, Lahore has now ranked fifth among the most polluted cities in the world. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is recorded at 122, with DHA at 174, Engineering Services at 153, LAS at 127, and Thokar Niaz Baig at 124.
The Meteorological Department has predicted more thunderstorms and rain in various cities across the country in the next 24 hours. However, the intensity of heat and humidity will persist in most areas. Thunderstorms with strong winds and rain are expected at a few places in Islamabad, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, and Buner.
According to the report, more thunderstorms with strong winds and rain are also expected in Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Malakand, Bajaur, Khyber, Kurram, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Kasur, and Okara.
According to the Meteorological Department, a few places in Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Noorpur Thal, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalnagar may also experience thunderstorms with strong winds and rain.
Late at night, rain with thunderstorms occurred in most parts of the country, which has reduced the intensity of heat and humidity.
