The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the ambassadors for the Champions Trophy 2025.
Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Sarfaraz Ahmed, has been appointed an ambassador for the tournament.
India’s former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, New Zealand’s Tim Southee, and Australia’s former all-rounder Shane Watson have also been named among the ambassadors for the Champions Trophy 2025.
The Champions Trophy 2025 is set to begin on February 19 in Pakistan. The matches will be played from February 19 to March 9, 2025, across Pakistan and the UAE. The host cities include Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai.
On this occasion, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed expressed his excitement, stating,
“I can never forget the moment of winning the Champions Trophy. The entire nation stood with us after our victory in the 2017 edition. The celebration of that win will always remain close to my heart. It’s exciting to see the return of the Champions Trophy in the cricket calendar and Pakistan hosting such a special event. Every match in this format is crucial, and I am eager to fulfill my role as an ambassador.”
Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan said,
“Being an ambassador for the Champions Trophy is a special feeling for me. In the coming weeks, the world’s best teams will compete for the prestigious white jacket.”
New Zealand’s Tim Southee remarked,
“As a player, you know that in the Champions Trophy, every match and every ball matters.”
Meanwhile, Australia’s Shane Watson stated,
“The Champions Trophy is a unique event that has given us many unforgettable moments.”
