Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti held a significant meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, where matters related to bilateral cooperation, climate change, and good governance were discussed in detail. The meeting also included talks on improving law and order, as well as reforms in the education and health sectors.
During the meeting, CM Bugti stated that climate change is an extraordinary global challenge, and in response, Balochistan has established its first Climate Fund to protect the environment and mitigate the effects of climate change on the local population.
He further added that the provincial government has saved 14 billion rupees from the non-development budget, channeling resources toward better governance. Under the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship program, students are being provided opportunities for higher education to empower the youth with better prospects.
Sarfraz Bugti also highlighted that, with the support of Akhuwat Foundation, an interest-free loan program is being introduced to assist underprivileged communities. In the education sector, 16,000 contract teachers have been hired purely on merit to improve educational standards.
The Chief Minister noted that reforms are also ongoing in the health and education sectors. For the first time, a Youth Policy has been introduced in Balochistan, along with the launch of the “Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Program,” aimed at equipping the province’s young population with essential skills.
