The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially launched a large-scale talent hunt program for schools across the country. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the Schools Talent Hunt Program 2025-26 at a local school in Lahore, where the tournament trophy was also unveiled during the opening ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said that the program is being simultaneously launched in all provinces of Pakistan, with a total of 391 schools participating. Among them, 175 are government schools and 218 are private institutions.
The PCB chairman highlighted that the primary objective of this initiative is to discover young cricketing talent from across the nation. He expressed hope that the tournament would help unearth new players who will one day represent Pakistan’s national team and bring glory to the country.
In an emotional note, Naqvi said he was delighted that the program began at the same school where he once studied, a place filled with memories from his early life.
He further stated that this initiative would provide students with an opportunity to pursue professional cricket alongside their academic education, ensuring that the next generation of players contributes positively to Pakistani cricket.
According to the PCB Chairman, players who excel in this program will be given opportunities to join U15, U17, and U19 regional teams as well as cricket academies, where they will receive further training and development.
