Pakistan’s opening batter, Sahibzada Farhan, has expressed confidence that the Asia Cup final could once again feature a high-voltage showdown between Pakistan and India. Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match against Sri Lanka, he said the team firmly believes they will face India again in the final.
Reflecting on his half-century against India in the Super Four stage and his unique celebration, Farhan explained that he rarely celebrates after scoring a fifty. However, the thought to celebrate differently came to him spontaneously. He added that he does not care what people may think about it.
Answering a question about his partnership with Fakhar Zaman, Farhan said batting alongside Fakhar has boosted his confidence, and the team plans to continue this opening combination moving forward.
It is worth noting that Pakistan suffered defeat against India in their opening Super Four encounter. The team will now play its second match against Sri Lanka today, followed by a clash with Bangladesh on September 25. The top two sides from the Super Four stage will compete in the final on September 28.
