KARACHI: The Meteorological Department has forecast a noticeable rise in temperature in Karachi over the next three days. According to the department, the mercury is expected to remain above normal this week, and citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the heat.
According to the Early Warning Center of the Meteorological Department, the temperature in the city may reach between 37°C and 38°C today. Moreover, it is expected that on Wednesday, the maximum temperature could rise to 39°C, the highest level recorded in recent days.
The department stated that hot and dry desert winds from Balochistan will continue to affect the city. As a result, the weather will feel warmer than usual, and residents may experience a significant increase in daytime temperatures over the coming days.
The Meteorological Department further explained that due to parallel wind directions, sea breezes may remain weak or inactive from morning to evening. Even though the weather will be hot and dry, humidity levels are expected to stay low, which can make the heat feel more intense during peak hours.
Officials clarified that despite the temperature rise, there is no possibility of a heatwave developing in Karachi during this period. The weather will remain warm and dry, but not at dangerously high levels.
It is worth mentioning that October is considered one of the warmest months in Karachi after May and June. During this period, the daytime temperature typically reaches up to 37°C, while nighttime temperatures remain between 23°C and 25°C. The Met Office has therefore advised citizens to stay cautious and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun.
