Speaking at the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan’s Consul Gul Qaiser Sarwani stated in clear terms that Kashmir was never part of India and will never be so in the future. Responding to remarks made by the Indian representative, he said that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, with its status defined under United Nations resolutions.
Gul Qaiser Sarwani said that India is not only openly sponsoring terrorism but has also repeatedly carried out acts of aggression against Pakistan. He added that the conduct of the Indian state reflects the mindset of a rogue actor, posing serious threats to regional peace and stability.
He further stated that evidence exists of terrorist groups operating under Indian patronage, including Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Baloch Liberation Army, which have carried out multiple attacks inside Pakistan. According to him, India’s repeated acts of aggression against Pakistan are in blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The Pakistani consul once again demanded that India immediately stop state-sponsored terrorism. He also rejected India’s stance on the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a deliberate distortion of facts and a misinterpretation of an international agreement.
Gul Qaiser Sarwani clarified that no provision of the Indus Waters Treaty allows for unilateral suspension or amendment and emphasized that compliance with the treaty is binding on all parties.
