The hearing regarding the seizure of prohibited funding against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Election Commission has had its date changed.
The hearing regarding the seizure of prohibited funding against PTI was scheduled for July 6th. However, it has now been rescheduled to August 8th.
It is worth noting that last year, a three-member bench led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja heard the case of PTI’s prohibited funding and issued show-cause notices, declaring the Chairman of PTI’s statements under oath as false.
In its “unanimous” decision, the Election Commission had stated that it had been proven that the PTI had obtained prohibited funds, and the Commission is confident that the PTI engaged in prohibited funding.
The Election Commission’s decision, consisting of 68 pages, stated that the PTI had received LLC funding from the United States. The PTI Chairman submitted an incorrect oath in the Election Commission, and the Chairman of PTI made false declarations from 2008 to 2013.
