Islamabad: Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani has issued an order to increase the salaries of Supreme Court judges. In the meeting presided over by Chairman PAC Noor Alam Khan, the gross salary details of the President, Prime Minister and judges were presented.
Acting President of the country, Sadiq Sanjrani, has issued an order in 2023 regarding the salaries of judges, according to which the Chief Justice of Pakistan will receive a monthly salary of PKR 1,229,189, while the salaries of Supreme Court judges will be PKR 1,161,163 per month.
Previously, as per the orders of 2022, the salary of the Chief Justice was PKR 1,024,324, while the salary of Supreme Court judges was PKR 967,636.
A few weeks ago, it was revealed during a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is the highest-paid official in Pakistan when it comes to receiving a salary.
Details of the salaries of the President, Prime Minister, and judges were presented in a meeting chaired by PAC Chairman Noor Alam Khan.
It was informed in the PAC that the salary of the President of the country is PKR 896,550, the salary of the Prime Minister is PKR 201,574, the salary of a federal minister is PKR 338,125, the salary of a member of the National Assembly is PKR 188,000, and the salary of the Chief Justice of Pakistan is PKR 1,527,399.
The PAC Chairman also revealed that the salary of a Supreme Court judge is PKR 1,470,711, while a federal officer of Grade 22 receives a salary of PKR 591,475.
