Islamabad: The federal government has decided to establish a Myrian Business District in Karachi in collaboration with the Karachi Port Trust.
According to News, this decision follows recommendations from the Special Investment Council. The Ministry of Maritime Affairs will oversee the key workstreams of this project.
The Myrian Business District will be developed under the Karachi Port Development Package. Land has already been identified for the project, and the first phase will involve an expenditure of one billion rupees.
The Ministry of Shipping plans to build 4 major projects in Karachi on the recommendations of SIFC and plans to build Greenfield Modern Coastal City are also included.
The decision has been made to create the Korangi Fisheries Business Park, and there is also a proposal to establish a Coastal Free Economic Zone.
