Sialkot Police reported on Sunday night that Imran Riaz Khan has reached his home.
Imran Khan’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, has confirmed his release. Mian Ali Ashfaq claimed that due to a weak judiciary, there was a delay in Imran Riaz’s release.
Both the police and Mian Ashfaq issued statements on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The police stated that Imran Riaz has been recovered.
Confirmation of Imran Riaz’s release was also made from the official PTI Twitter handle.
It is being reported that Imran Riaz is in relatively good health.
Imran Riaz was arrested at the Sialkot airport two days after the May 9 riots when he was apparently trying to leave the country. However, on May 15, the police informed the court that Imran Riaz had been released and was not in police custody.
