The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Siraj ul Haq, has announced a sit-in protest against the increase in electricity and petroleum prices in front of the Governor House in Peshawar.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, stated that on September 19, the youth of Karachi should come out on the streets.
Addressing the Ulama Convention in Taimar girah, Sirajul Haque said that the PDM and the change government have pushed the country into inflation.
He said that NAB and Judiciary should hold accountable the corrupt rulers, Maulana Fazlur Rehman is now silent on inflation, people should support Jamaat-e-Islami against inflation.
He stated that the oblivious Prime Minister is bowing to the IMF regarding the installments of electricity bills.

A protest sit-in was held by Jamaat-e-Islami at Star Gate in Karachi.
Addressing the protesters, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that the government will have to reduce the price of petrol; inflation is being increased only to please the IMF, and we are bearing the brunt of petrol bombs. The government should not make a spectacle of our helplessness.
He said that rulers who run the loot and corruption network have become the rulers. Those who negotiate with the IMF are their representatives.
He said that on both sides of the table, the IMF sits, and the burden of their installments is placed on the poor.
